两项用比较级，三项以上用最高级

This road is longer than that one.

只比两条路，用比较级，后面接 than。一个音节的形容词一般加 er，最高级加 est：tall, taller, the tallest。

She is the tallest of the three.

三者或更多用最高级，前面通常有 the。长形容词不拼写变化，比较级用 more，最高级用 most：more difficult, the most careful。

拼写上，辅音加 y 要改 i：happy, happier, happiest。重读闭音节双写末尾辅音：big, bigger, biggest。以 e 结尾只加 r 或 st：large, larger, largest。

有几组不按规则走：good, better, best；bad, worse, worst；far, farther, farthest；many, more, most；little, less, least。说“进一步”时用 further，不说 farther。可数名词用 fewer，不可数用 less。

as ... as 中间用原级：as tall as。比较级前面可以加 much、a bit、far，不能再加 more 或 very，所以 more better 不成立。the + 比较级, the + 比较级 表示一边变，另一边也变：The more you practise, the better you become.
